Building Program

Now’s The Time! After years of prayer, planning and work, it’s time for us to build the next phase of our facilities to see more lives and destinies changed! It’s time to move forward together into God’s miraculous future for His church! Now’s The Time! because . . .

God is challenging us to believe Him in spite of what seems to be a difficult time!  Now’s The Time! to prove God’s faithfulness and power as we follow His leadership to build.  ~Pastor Paul Jackson

Frequently Asked Questions

How big is the new building and what will it include?

The building will be approximately 8500 square feet.  It will include a large Café Lobby (in the Starbucks / Panera Bread fashion), two restrooms, a large stage area, two stage rooms and seating that will double our current capacity enabling us to reach more people for Jesus.  It also creates an outdoor courtyard area between the buildings to use in good weather.  The parking lot will surround the building and there will be four entrances with a door facing each parking lot.  If we were to give additional monies we have permission from the township to build a 40 x 60 education wing with six classrooms.  It would be great to have this as well!  The more we give, the more we can do!

What will the rest of the building be used for?

Our existing facility (9200 square feet) will be dedicated to the children and youth of the church and the community.    The current sanctuary will become the children’s chapel on Sunday morning and the Youth Chapel on Wednesday night.  It will also be used for education space and as a “coffee house” type outreach center for the High School.  We will be doing some light remodeling in order to accomplish this.  The remodel is not a part of the current projected cost of the project.

How much does the building cost and when will it be finished?

The total project including all costs is budgeted at 1.9 million dollars.   If all goes according to plan we will break ground in December of 2011 and celebrate Christmas of 2012 in the new facility!  The latest dates would be break ground somewhere in the first quarter of 2012 and be in the building first quarter of 2013.

Will the buildings look alike?

If we are able to raise additional dollars we will paint the existing building in black and tan rather than green so that when the whole project is completed, the buildings will look as if they were built at the same time.  Again, the more we give and the faster we give the more we will be able to do!

Can we afford this?

Working with our Building Coach we have made sure not to bite off more than we can chew!  We have planned a zero growth budget which means when it is all said and done we will be able to afford the new mortgage at our current income level.     Of course, we sincerely believe we will grow both numerically and financially with this new tool, but we wanted to keep our expenses within reason so we could still put money in to people and ministry without having to stretch ourselves beyond proper bounds.  We have evenly programmed the building to fit our lot size, needs, and budget.

Why don’t we just purchase some existing building?

We actually tried to do this.    After prayer and much investigation, we not only were unable to find anything that would work for us, we sincerely believe it is God’s will for us to build here at this time.   We considered selling our current facility and purchasing land but God closed that door.  We considered purchasing the old Triboro Pontiac building on Route 130 but the township would not allow us to do that.  We considered several other options and each time God closed the door.  In addition, we have consistently sensed God leading us to build in this location and His favor has been on us during this planning time in several ways.

What is the purpose of the Now’s The Time! campaign?

Changed lives!!  The only reason we exist and are building is too reach individuals in this area who have not yet discovered the abundant and eternal life in Jesus Christ.  God aches for His lost children to know Him.  He works through us and we need a larger building to continue to reach, disciple and love people for Jesus.   Of course, we must raise enough money in this campaign to make the building possible, but the main goal is to see people come to Jesus.  In addition, this campaign will help all of us grow in our understanding and experience of the power and faithfulness of God.  This is going to be an exciting, faith building adventure!

How long is the Now’s The Time! Campaign and what are you asking me to do?

The campaign is designed as a two year commitment.  We are asking you to make a financial pledge toward the building project to be paid off within that two year time frame.  You can give weekly, monthly, annually, or one time, however you please.   We will be asking you to fill out the commitment card on Sunday, November 13 in our Celebration Sunday.  Don’t miss this great service!

What are the goals of the campaign?

Our goals are simple.  We are looking for 100 % participation from our congregation to believe God and give in a way that reflects the leading of the Spirit and faith in our lives.   If all of us do this, we will raise enough money!   We are asking each family to make a two year faith filled pledge.

Will I be asked to disclose how much I’m giving or ask someone to give?

Absolutely not!  You will never be required to ask anyone to give or to disclose to others how much you are pledging.  This is an issue between you and the Lord.

Does joining a team require me to give a certain amount?

No!  We simply want everyone who calls Calvary Church their home to be a part of the team!  By joining a team you are in no way committing to financial giving.  No one will ever ask you to give a specific amount or expect you to.  Each person will need to pray and see what Jesus wants them to do personally.

Will our commitments ever be made public and can they be changed?

No.  Individual pledges will not be made public.  However, we will announce our collective pledged amount on November 20th on first gifts Sunday.  You may increase or decrease your pledge at anytime.  Your pledge is between you and the Lord.

Can I give non cash gifts?

Yes!  It is possible for you to give any type of non cash gift you would like to give.  Stocks, bonds, cars, boats, jewelry, etc.   If you are interested in exploring this option, please let us know and we will explain how these types of gifts can be included.

Why do we need to build?  Shouldn’t we just focus on bringing people to Jesus?

Yes!  People need Jesus!  That really is the short answer.  We are building simply because we are running out of space and we can’t continue to reach new people without it.  We have prayerfully considered all options and sincerely believe God is leading us to build at this time.  More space gives us the tool we need to continue to see people come to Jesus and grow in their spiritual lives.   More space for our children, youth and adults to carry out the ministries God is using to touch lives.

What if we don’t raise enough money?

We absolutely will!  No matter what we raise we can move forward toward our ultimate vision.  Between our current cash reserves, our ability to borrow and our faith filled pledges, we will be able to build.  Don’t worry…just believe God and He will enable us to do what He wants us to do!

What if I don’t really want to do what needs to be done?

Unfortunately, our human nature never wants to do what God challenges us to do.  We must believe God and ask Him for the grace and strength we need, then act in faith.  As we do this, He will empower us and change our hearts to His desires.  If you will be honest with God, He will give you the faith and motivation you need.
